After graduating from art school, four young women attempt to set up their own advertising agency in a male-dominated industry. But the differing expectations they have for their future lead to friction and jeopardize the venture. The lead role of Marianne was played by a young Ingrid Bergman during her brief stint in Germany. This comedy should be regarded in the context of the prevailing National Socialist concept of that time of the “Volksgemeinschaft” (people’s community), which defined, amongst other things, who could participate in filmmaking and who the works should appeal to.
